UNDRR Terminology in Translation: Launch
On 29 October 2021 the UNDRR Terminology translations in Kono, Krio, Limba, Mende, and Themne were launched. Hosted at the Radisson Bue Mammy Yoko Hotel, Aberdeen, Freetown, the formal launch was an exciting and encouraging event for all current and future translators, interpreters, and mediators in Sierra Leone. We had the great honor to welcome the UN Resident Representative, as well as high representatives from NDMA, UNDP, the Ministry of Education of Sierra Leone, and the German Embassy.
At the launch of the translated UNDRR Terminology, the translators received a certificate recognizing their huge commitment and contribution to the success of this project. A list of all translators contributing to this project can be found in the dictionary (p.8).

Insights into Training and Workshops
For five months, several training and workshops took place all across Sierra Leone. While the trainings where hosted in Freetown and Makeni, the workshops brought the language teams in every corner of Sierra Leone - from the coast of Freetown, to the mountains region of Kabala and close to the Liberian border in Kono.
If you want to find out more about the training and workshop, here you find a blog entry by Chloe Franklin.
